A list of all words that are possibly confusing, their definitions, and how to apply it in the game. A: ACOG- Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight; a scope for all guns except shotguns. It is good because it has better zoom than the Red Dot Sight, and can make a sniper into a regular semi-auto/bolt action rifle, but it’s bad because it has got a lot more sway than a red dot sight. Airstrike- Used in combination with an active UAV, this can be deadly. You activate it (press 6), and a screen comes up. Watch where your enemies are. Look for the densest cluster, and make a sensible prediction of whether or not your strike will hit a building. Strange enough, though, is the fact that the bombs explode THROUGH the roof, but the roof remains intact. AR- Assault Rifle Attachment- Different special items you attach to your guns. At 25 kills = RDS; 75 kills = Silencer (AR, SMG) or Grip (Shotgun,LMG); 100 kills = ACOG (Sniper); 150 kills = ACOG (all but Sniper and Shotgun). B: Belly Flop- Sprinting and just before reaching cover press jump shortly followed by prone (space and ctrl, usually). Great strategy. C: Camouflage- An added color onto a gun, occasionally useful, but mostly just cool. You start with Desert and Woodland, 25 headshots for Digital, 75 for Blue Tiger, 150 for Red Tiger; get all camouflages in one section of guns and one gets a gold camouflage. Assault rifle = AK-47; SMG = Mini Uzi; LMG = M60E4; Shotgun = M1014; Sniper = Dragunov; Handgun = Desert Eagle (Level 55) Camping- Either sitting in a room with an assault rifle, LMG, or sniper rifle with claymores blocking the entrance, or sitting in a random spot in a map all game and getting kills. Frowned upon, but nevertheless useful. Console- Either the game system you play on(PS3, Xbox 360, ect.) Or(In the PC version) an area in which to type specific commands. More here. D: Desert Eagle (or DE) - The handgun Desert Eagle, unlocked at level 44. Domination - Essentially Capture The Flag, and then defend the location it is at. E: EXP (also XP) - On which your level is determined. Between two levels there is an amount of EXP you must get to reach the other one.You get EXP by completing challenges, getting kills, and activating killstreaks. F: FFA - Free-for-All. Name says what it is. G: Grip - An attachment for the shotgun and the LMG, H: HardCore (HC) - A version on regular battles, has no reticule and minimal HUD which makes hip-firing harder. Headshot - Rather obvious, isn’t it? Helps you get camouflage rewards. Helicopter (Heli) - A seven-kill-in-a-row award, You activate it, sit back, and watch the fireworks. literally, if someone shoots it down. More here on that topic. HUD - Heads-Up Display, a feature of a regular match. In comparison to hardcore, it has an aiming reticule(the thing in the center of the screen), scores, EXP until next level, a constant radar on the top right corner, the button used for the corresponding perk/killstreak, and the position you are in(standing crouch, Last Stand, prone). I J K: Killstreak- A bonus after getting x kills in a row.3 kills = UAV, 5 kills = Air strike, 7 kills = Helicopter. |
L: Last Stand - Pull out your pistol before dying. Noobish and a kickable offense on servers, but actually very useful. LMG - Light-Machine Gun LMG Noob - One who uses an LMG as their main weapon constantly and sprays everything with it. Not usually a good idea. You should use an LMG as if it’s an Assault Rifle on 5 round burst. M: Martyrdom (Martyr, Marty) - Usually frowned upon, it’s the dropping of a live grenade when you die, except with a 2.5 second fuse. Useful, but hated nevertheless. Mores: Claymores, essentially a landmine with a cone-shaped blast radius. shown by 2 red lines coming out the front. N: Noob: Slang form of Newbie, a new player or used as a degratory term against people who use guns or tactics that give you easy kills. In layman's terms, a noob is a guy that uses weapons like the P90 and Grenade Launcher to get kills easily. I'd say all but three of the things you get commonly called a noob for(those three being Martyrdom, LMG spraying, and spawn-camping) are legitimate strategies. Noob Tube (Or Toob, some people can’t spell) - The Grenade Launcher Attachment to a gun. Most servers are not big fans of this and will kick you off for using it. O: Old School - Free-For-All on steroids. Please read here for info on it. OpFor- Little known, but means Oppositional Forces Overkill - Lets you carry a primary weapon instead of a handgun, if used with Last Stand your gun for Last Stand is the M9 Beretta P: Perk (s) - Essentially special abilities, you can choose and change whenever once you reach level 4. Don’t worry, it’s quick to get. Tier 1 Perks (blue) - Explosives and things like them Tier 2 Perks (red) - Weapon related and UAV Jammer Tier 3 Perks (green) - Miscellanious R: Red Dot Sight (RDS) - A very easy to use scope, the only drawback is it doesn’t zoom in much. Useful for all situations Run ’N’ Gun - Taking any fully automatic gun and running around the map. Recommended with a silenced SMG or the G36c. S: Sabotage - SnD with a twist - Both teams have to defend and try to plant the single bomb that is in use. Silencer - An attachment to your gun that makes you invisible when you shoot. Useful along with UAV jammer. SMG - Sub-Machine Gun SnD - Search and Destroy. One team gets a bomb, the other gets two locations to defend. The team with the bomb must place the bomb and not get eliminated or let the defenders defuse the bomb. The defenders have to kill the other team or defuse the bomb before it goes off. If you ever see the bomb, it’s a briefcase with a cell phone in it. the cell phone has a Microsoft Paint-esque picture on the screen with one word- BOOM. Spawn-Camping - Being situated so that whenever the enemy spawns, you kill them. HIGHLY frowned upon. SoftCore - Rarely used term, but means a normal difficulty match. T: TDM - Team DeathMatch, your regular everyday battle. TNL -To Next Level U: UAV - In normal, it gives you a bonus to your existing radar, in HardCore it Gives you radar, and in both is lets you constantly see where the enemy is, unless they have on... UAV Jammer - ...Which blocks the UAV from seeing you. W : Window Camping- Take your gun, enter a building, go up to a window. There you have it. Y Q, V, X, Z, and Others |
