Recipe for Christmas Fruit Cookies Ingredients: 1/2 cup Lard 1/2 cup Butter 1 cup Sugar 2 Eggs, Beaten 1/2 cup Milk 2 Cups Flour 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda 3/4 Cup of Currants 3/4 Cup of Raisins 2 Cups Uncooked Oatmeal In large bowl, cream the butter and the lard together. Add the sugar, eggs, milk flour, baking soda, currants, raisins and oatmeal. Mix well with wooden spoon. Drop by the teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 325-350 degree oven for 10-20 minutes. Check after 10 minutes. Remove when golden brown. Let cool on wire rack. Oven temps vary, and this is a 100 year old recipe, so you must take altitude and stove type into consideration.
