New Ways to Look at Leftovers

(Family Features) - Who says you can't love leftovers? With a few simple tweaks, it's easy to transform last night's meal into new dishes that are just as delicious as the originals.

Chef Ryan Scott, former cheftestant of Bravo TV's "Top Chef," loves getting creative with his leftovers. According to Chef Scott, the secret to getting the most out of your leftovers is planning ahead. When picking up those last minute ingredients for the main event, ensure that the pantry and freezer are stocked with staple ingredients, such as chicken broth and stock, eggs, and frozen vegetables. That way, you'll already have everything you need to transform your leftovers. Most importantly, improvise and have fun. A "day-after" meal might just become a new favorite.

Here is a recipe by Chef Scott that is a twist on a family favorite. Turkey Sloppy Joes are made with leftover cooked turkey, onion, chili powder, sweet diced tomatoes and 100% Natural Swanson Chicken stock. Serve on lightly browned hamburger buns, or create sliders with leftover dinner rolls.
