Recipe for Cottage Pudding

Cottage Pudding
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1-1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
salt
1/2 cup hot water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cream the butter, add the sugar and beat well. Add the
beaten egg.  Add the flour, baking powder and salt and mix well. Add the hot water and beat till smooth.  Add the vanilla and mix. Pour into a shallow greased 9 inch pan.  Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.  Cut into squares and serve warm with the following sauce. serves 6-8

Sauce
Ingredients;
4 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped

Cream the butter and add sugar.  Beat until creamy.  Add the
vanilla and strawberries.  Fold in the whipped cream.  Do not make this sauce until ready to use. This is a great dessert!  Won't last long and your guests will ask for the recipe!
