Tips to help you choose a recipe from a cookbook
that will be right for you!

1. Choose them by the cooking experience that you have. If you are a novice, choose simple recipes and those easy to understand. As you become a better cook, choose more difficult recipes.

2. How does the recipe go with the rest of the meal you are preparing?

3. Do you have all the ingredients called for? Do you need to go and buy expensive ingredients?

4. Do you have the correct equipment to make the recipe? Right size pans, mixer, oven, etc.

5. The cost of the recipe. See if the cost justifies the results of you meal.

6. Do you have the time to prepare the dish?

7. How many people will you be serving? Can you change the porportions of the ingredients?

8. Does your oven work well? Is is large or small?

9. Where is the recipe from? Has it been tested? Are there missing ingredients?

Or are you pawing through the entire box for the one you are looking for? Only keep recipes that you have tried and they were a big success..Place these proven recipes in a box, book or computer. Be sure to label this box, book or computer file(Tried and True Recipes) or whatever you find appropriate. Be sure to make a note if you made any changes to these recipes. This could make a difference for when you go to make it again, or if someone else uses the recipe.  Throw away recipes that mediocre.
