Food Fun and Facts Recipe for Golden Shrimp Casserole
 
Golden Shrimp Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups cooked fresh shrimp or two 7 ounce packages of frozen shrimp, (shelled, deveined and cooked)
8 slices bread, slightly dry, trimmed, buttered and cubed (5 cups)
1 3 ounce can mushrooms (drained)
1/2 pound sharp American Cheese, grated
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
paprika and pepper-dash of each
2 cups milk

Directions:

Place half the bread in an 11x7x1-1/2 inch casserole dish

Add shrimp, mushrooms and half the grated cheese.  The remaining bread and grated cheese go on the top of the casserole.

Then, beat the eggs,salt, dry mustard, paprika and pepper together.  Add the milk and mix. 

Pour over the casserole.  Bake for about 45 minutes in a 325 degree oven until mixture is set.

This serves 4 people. Serve this with a green salad, beverage and light dessert!

This is a very good dish to serve when company is coming!
