Very Old Recipe for Red Pepper Relish

6 red peppers
2 onions
2 large celery stalks
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
white vinegar

Pour boiling water over chopped red peppers, and celery. Let stand 10 minutes; drain.

   Put in a bowl and add sugar and salt.   Cover with white vinegar.
Transfer to a pot and cook 20 to 30 minutes.   Pack in sterilized jars.
