Recipe for Root Beer

Ingredients:
4 pounds sugar
5 gallons lukewarm water
1 bottle root beer extract
1/2 to 1 package compressed yeast

 Dissolve sugar in water.  Add the rootbeer extract and yeast.  Mix and bottle.
 Cork or seal tightly.  Set in warm place. Root beer is ready for use in 10 to 12  hours. 
It is better if allowed to stand for several days.  Store in a cool place.
